| webpage basics this is my html beginners tutorial.. anyone can do this... i do mean anyone.. i put it into 5 easy to follow steps... common give it a shot.. abyss http server this is a exellent easy to use freeware personal http server.. so you can host your own site on your computer... even with a dial up apache http server this is the best free http server. it supports php cgi. yet its not as easy to set up as abyss is.. but it is a damn good one php 5 this is to install php on your apache http server. or whatever http server you use that supports php. filezilla ftp server this is a freeware ftp server.. you can run this on your pc for instance if you have the http server running also.. people or you can log onto your pc via ftp and upload there site.. to update it onto the other pc.. all they will need is a ftp client... no-ip.com this is a free little program that runs on your computer for running http or ftp servers on your computer. and it automatically changes your ip for you. so someone would only have to type http://www.no-ip.com/username instead of *exsample* http://65.45.343.656.. programmers notepad this is a freeware html editor or for computer programming.. very helpful little program proboards.com this is a free message board it is very fast and free easy to set up.. acehtml ace html is a free yet powerful html generator. and real easy to use. submitted by: graykard. frontpage express front page is a free web designer.. it is pretty good.. in fact this is used by many professionals... atemplate.com this is a place to get website templates.. sometimes even for free.. a template is basically a premade designed site.. made by a professional web designer.. godaddy.com this is a great and cheap place to get hosting and to get a dns (domain name server) dittmerdan.net is a dns.. hosting is where a company holds your site on a secure server on high speed.. so it can handle many users... submitexpress submitexpress is a great site to check your meta tags... mine was so screwed up.. i had 1980 keywords.. you should only have.. (looks down) argahmm.. 20.. linkchecker this will scan your webpage for broken links.. it is a huge life saver.. it runs off its site.. not a program.. very fast.. namezero.com get a your-domainname.com site.. i used to use this for dittmerdan.com but i got tired of it. because it is only a frame redirecting to my site on aol, i wanted my own domain. groupboard.com group board is a free java applet for your site it gives you a chat, paint brush, message board, and games all in one plus all kinds of other free things.. googlefight.com this is a funny way to see how a search term ranks in google search engine.. dir2html this is a free tool to instantly take a whole directory on a pc to turn it into a html page for clickable to make like a html menu to download files in your http server... or just to use on the pc. html validator this is w3schools html validator to make sure you have valid html on your website. htmltotxt this converts html documents to text documents.. basically what it does is remove all html tags and puts content into a text file.. flashbuttons.com this is a site to make free animated flash buttons and menus for your site.. 1001fonts.com this is a site with kick ass free fonts to use in your logos.. |
