it is very simple to build a computer your gonna laugh at how easy it is. you
may hear someone say I can build a computer im smart (blah blah) a two
year old can build it. you dont have to be a rocket scientist now if you build
your very own mother board that is a different story. thats just a hassle and
a waste of time. leave it to the professionals.
first off there is only 5 main parts you need to build one, yeah thats right *5*
not 5 million.
motherboard
cpu
harddrive
case with powersupply
ram
(click picture to maximize)
you get the case.. lay it down sideways.. and touch the case to make sure
you release any static from your body.. do this every once in awhile.. a tiny
static spark can fry something..
put the motherboard in make sure the case is made for the motherboard it
should lay right in. put the provided brass posts in place to align them to fit
the mother board. should take about 8 screws.. screw it in be gentle its not
made of iron..
plug the power supply into the motherboard.
open the hatch to the cpu, put your cpu into it and secure it down with the
hatch, put thermal onto the cpu then put the heat sinking fan over the CPU
(very important) or cpu will be destroyed. now plug the heat sinking fan into
the mother board..
slide the ram into the motherboard. either it goes in straight and locks in or
some older machines goes in sideways and snaps in..
( the cpu retrives binary data from the ram.. then it executes it.. the retriving
data is the slowest cycle, the faster then cpu and more the ram you got the
faster the data cycle.. )
screw the harddrive in. takes 2 -- 4 screws, hook the ide cable from the
mother board in slot ide 1 on the motherboard.. to the harddrive and hook
the powersupply to the harddrive..
same with the floppy, cd-rom etc...
slide your sound, modem, video cards in.. they each take 1 screw to hold
them in you will have to remove the metal sleeve from the case.
hook up the system speaker, battery etc.. it will be self explanatory, use
good judgment and if all else fails read on the mother board. it will say batt-
ery, speaker blah...
ok your done hook up your keyboard, mouse, monitor, soundcard speakers,
etc. boot up *bios* automatically finds your hardware at the beginning what
that means your cd-rom should be working now..
so pop your windows OS cd in and reboot your computer.
it will say boot from harddrive or cd - rom? choose cd - rom and windows
begins installing just follow the prompts and read. follow prompts somemore.
ok you have a new computer, wasent that rocket scientry? ha!! well some-
times it can get just alittle bit more trickier like if your hooking two harddrives
up, you have to have one jumper to be set at master and the other to slave.
the same with 2 cd-roms.. or a cd copier and dvd rom etc
basically yeah thats all it boils down too. is getting your two year old building
block skills in and heck you have yourself a pc...
well almost you need to install all the drivers for your hardware. get the video
card installation disk, sound card, modem.. the installation cds came with all
the cards/drives you purchased. if you dont have them get your modem driver
first and find them online.. you install these within windows..
below are sites to buy computer parts online. i also watch stores for sales.

here is pictures and specs of my computer i built. and if you have any prob-
lems with computer not booting. check this page out of mine. it will help you
track down your problem.
